Glass Millefiori Pendants

Our Millefiori ("thousand
flowers") Pendants are authentic Antica Murrina Veneziana
Glass Venetian Millefiori Pendants, made in Venice, Italy, using techniques that date
back to the Roman Ages. The Millefiori glass cane is made from a heated glass
sphere which is pressed into a mould in such a way that it can have a flower or
star shape. Afterwards, it can be covered by further glass layers of different
colors and can be put in moulds again to obtain concentric designs. Finally, the
glass sphere is warmed up and pulled at its ends until it becomes a thin glass
cane.
The Millefiori cane is cut into small pieces and set into another
 mould, in the
pattern of a pre-established design. When this composition is heated, the small
pieces merge and become a unique piece, called a Murrina. Each Murrina
design is a unique blend of heat and glass; no two are ever alike. After
cooling, the Murrina is ready to become an elegant pendant or other art form.
Our Millefiori Pendants
come with a 36" Black Satin Cord and Murano Glass story
